Our list of 'recommended' disco movies.

Skatetown USA - 1979

The Rock and Roller Disco Movie of the Year!

A comedy, with bad acting. Cast includes Scott Baio, Flip Wilson, and Melissa Sue Anderson. More like an afterschool special. Only available on VHS.

Nocturna - 1979

A vampire disco movie, really. John Blyth Barrymore as a Punk Vampire, and Frank Irizarry as the Disk Jockey. Near impossible to find, and only on VHS.

The Fish that Saved Pittsburgh
- 1979

A disco basketball movie. Well, more about basketball than disco. Soundtrack: A Theme for L.A.'s Team - Doc Severinsen / Magic Mona - Phyllis Hyman / Mighty Mighty Pisces - The Sylvers / No One Does It Better - The Spinners / The Fish That Saved Pittsburgh - Bell and James / Moses Theme - Frankie Bleu / Chance of a Lifetime - The Four Tops / Follow Every Dream - William Hart / Ragtime - Thom Bell and Eubie Blake / Is It Love, Must Be Love - Loretta Lynn and Frankie Bleu. Near impossible to find, both the soundtrack and the actual movie.

The Apple - 1980

A disco musical with bad acting, bad plot. Released right around the time people were 'going anti-disco'. What a big mistake that was - going anti-disco that is. Reissued on DVD with a 'NEW' cover.

This is a futuristic movie about controling the world with disco music. It's anti-disco really, or at least not about disco culture and lifestyles, but still worth seeing because it is about disco.
